About HealthWool

Building fast, accurate, and accessible training calculators for lifters, runners, and fitness practitioners worldwide.

Our Mission

At HealthWool, our mission is simple: provide athletes, lifters, personal trainers, and everyday fitness enthusiasts with fast, reliable, and scientifically grounded calculations to support their training and nutrition goals.

Too many fitness tools on the web today are bogged down by intrusive paywalls, mandatory user accounts, aggressive popups, and slow, bloated frameworks. HealthWool was built to take the opposite approach: lightweight, browser-based utilities that deliver immediate calculations right where you need them—whether you are planning your week at your desk or loading plates in the squat rack.

What Our Tools Provide

Our platform includes 16 specialized calculators organized across four key training domains:

  • Strength & Powerlifting: One-repetition maximum (1RM) estimators, barbell plate loading configurations, Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE), Reps In Reserve (RIR), cumulative session volume, progressive overload targets, repetition maximum charts, training max ratios, and ramped warm-up progressions.
  • Running & Endurance: Pace per kilometer and mile calculations, speed conversions, and split time pacing tables for races ranging from 5K to the marathon.
  • Body Composition & Nutrition: Body Mass Index (BMI), Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) via Mifflin-St Jeor, Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE), and customized macronutrient distributions.
  • Unit Conversions: Seamless bi-directional weight conversions between kilograms, pounds, grams, and ounces.

Commitment to Scientific Accuracy

All calculators on HealthWool implement established mathematical and physiological equations documented in sports science literature. Rather than using proprietary or obscure algorithms, we clearly disclose every formula used—such as the Epley, Brzycki, and Lombardi equations for one-rep max estimation, and the Mifflin-St Jeor equation for basal metabolism.

Where models provide estimates rather than exact measurements (such as 1RM or TDEE), we clearly communicate assumptions, typical standard deviations, and practical interpretation guidelines so you can apply the data sensibly.

Privacy-First Architecture

Every calculation on HealthWool happens locally on your device using client-side JavaScript. We do not store your body weight, lifting numbers, or personal stats on any server or database.
